Michigan Eclipses 20K COVID cases in August
As the coronavirus pandemic continues and some local school districts have kids back in the classroom, Michigan registered almost 21,000 confirmed cases in August alone.
In metro Detroit, Macomb County saw the highest increase in COVID-19 cases on a percentage basis. The county had over 12,000 cases at the end of the month, up over 33 percent from the beginning of the month -- adding 3,100 cases in that span. Conversely, Detroit, the original hotspot in Michigan, saw coronavirus cases grow by just 7 percent in August.
Michigan currently has over 102,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, part of over 25 million worldwide.
